Apple Print--Capital A Art Project

Materials Needed:

• Red, yellow, green tempera paint
• Paper plates for paint
• Paper towels
• Letter A cut-out  (If you need a pattern, click here)

Steps for making a Apple Print:
1. Cut apple in half
2. Dip apple in paint, flat side down
3. Dab apple on paper towel to remove excess paint (too much paint will smudge the image)
4. Press apple, paint side down, on the letter A in several places
5. Wipe apple clean between paint colors

Using Activity to Teach:

• Discuss the parts of the apple (skin, flesh, seeds etc.).
• Count the apple seeds
