Tissue Paper Leaves Placemat
Materials needed:
- Construction Paper
- Green, orange, red, and yellow tissue paper
- Leaf patterns (free download: Free Fall Leaf Patterns)
- Clear contact paper
1. Print Free Fall Leaf Patterns, smaller leaves work well for this project.
2. Use patterns to cut leaves out of tissue paper.
3. Cut clear contact paper to the size of your construction paper placemat.
4. Remove backing paper from contact paper.
5. Tape contact paper to table, sticky side up to stabilize work surface for child/children.
6. Allow child/children to place tissue paper leaves overlapping on the contact paper.
7. After they achieve the desired look, (adult) place the construction placemat over the surface of the contact paper and smooth out surface (tip: you will get less bubbles if you hold the construction paper in a U –holding ends of the construction paper, with middle dropped down—lower the center to contact paper then lower the edges, smoothing from center out to edges).
8. Trim off extra contact paper.
9. When you turn over the project you will reveal the beautiful masterpiece
