Jack-O-Lantern Windsock
Materials needed:
12X18” Orange construction paper
Glue
Black construction paper or copies of face patterns
Stapler
Orange and black crepe paper
Steps for making Jack-O-Lantern Windsocks:
1. Fold 12X18 piece of orange construction paper in half lengthwise. (1 per child)
2. Child will choose eyes, nose and mouth pieces and glue onto “strip” to make desired face.
3. Child will glue streamers of orange and black along the (inside) bottom of strip.
4. “Curl” Strip around and slightly overlap ends. Staple on top and bottom.
5. Staple a paper handle strip on top.
Using Activity to Teach:
Use Jack O Lanterns to reinforce parts of the face. Point to eyes nose and mouth discussing where each part is found. (“Below your eyes”, “above your mouth”…)
