Colorful Fall Leaf Cookies
Materials needed:
- Sugar cookie dough (homemade or store bought roll)
- Food coloring—Paste food coloring will be brightest
- Leaf shape cookie cutter (link to Wilton Comfort-Grip Oak Leaf)
1. Divide dough into four balls.
2. Mix yellow coloring into one ball, red into another, green, into another, and orange into the last.
3. Add flour if the dough gets sticky
4. Form each ball into a tube, put the four tubes together and twist them 1 to 2 times.
5. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours
6. Put flour on a board and rolling pin
7. Roll out dough to desired thickness
8. If the colors are not mixed enough, fold over and roll out again
9. Use a metal pancake turner to move cookies to cookie sheet. Refrigerate dough again (this will help the cookies keep their shape.
10. Bake following recipe/package directions
